Type of Parrots
Parrots are the most beautiful and amazing birds. That is why everyone flocks to the bird section when they visit their local pet stores. Parrots can captivate us for hours.
There are dozens of different types of parrots. Cockatiels are one of the most common types of parrots. They are normally grey in color and have some of the most beautiful markings. Boys tend to have a bright facial coloring
while the female’s facial color is softer and less bright. It has been reported that cockatiels can live as long as 25 years, while most live around 18 years. This makes them great companions for many different groups of people.
Cockatiels are one of the easiest birds to train. They are eager to please and pick up sounds and small phrases easily. Bird enthusiasts say that males can be easier to train but this point is often argued both ways. There are many tips for first time bird owners that will help you to quickly train your parrot. They will also pick up common sounds and phrases in your house, so don’t be surprised when you hear some cute and funny sounds coming from your cockatiel.
Cockatiels are usually happier in pairs, though it’s not unheard of to have just one cockatiel. The greatest risk to having a pair of cockatiels is that when one dies, the other usually follows fairly quickly. They will grieve for each other and it is sometimes difficult to prevent grieving.
Birds make some of the best companion animals. They bring so many smiles and laughs to your home. Cockatiels are just one type of parrots. Raising birds is usually a lifelong passion. There are so many rewards to raising and training any type of parrot and chances are you will be hooked for life.
